In addition, the acidulation agent being used
will vary the concentration of F+ needed, but the delivery of
available Fluoride should be no more or less than the above. Suppliers
use either or both the F+ , or NaF rating in their marketing
material and packaging, but they mean the same.
Actual fluoride uptake depends on the patient,
the treatment technique, contact time, the quality of the ingredients being
used, and the tolerance of the patient of the treatment itself, which is
greatly influenced by the acceptability of the flavor and consistency of the
product being used.
